With a brand new all steel arch, this cemetery is much easier to find than it has been in the past. The arch, however, proclaims it to be the River View Cemetery, whereas it was originally known as the Grandview Cemetery. With 40 known graves, this is not a large cemetery, for an equally "not large" town.

The arch, of square steel tubing, with lettering welded in place, is supported by large steel pipes. It is painted or powder coated in a matte silver finish.

Given that there are only 40 graves here, this could be the second Marcus Cemetery. In 1939, with the construction of the Grand Coulee Dam, Lake Roosevelt flooded the Columbia River Valley, forcing the evacuation or moving of several towns, Marcus being one. Marcus was moved to higher ground and its cemetery may have been in the valley that was flooded, necessitating the opening of a new one.
