Opened May 4, 2013 after 5 years of work, this former commercial wharf (used mainly for trade sand for many years until 2006) has been rehabilitated to restore a technical vocation and offer a new walk in public to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city as well as an interpretation table.
It has a new gas station and a dock for fishing boats and services (customs, police ...). You can see the new star of the National Society for Sea Rescue (lifeboat), a small piece of technology called "Sieur de Mons", in reference to Pierre Du Gua de Monts (1560-1628), Royan gentleman who participated in the colonization of Canada as early as 1604, Samuel Champlain.

Inauguré le 4 mai 2013 après 5 ans de travaux, cet ancien quai commercial (utilisé notamment pour le commerce de sable pendant de nombreuses années jusqu'en 2006) a été réhabilité pour lui redonner une vocation technique et offrir une nouvelle promenade au grand public afin de profiter d'un point de vue imprenable sur la ville ainsi qu'une table d'interprétation.
Il dispose une nouvelle station-service et d'un ponton pour les bateaux de pêche et de service (douanes, gendarmerie…). On peut y voir la nouvelle vedette de la Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer (SNSM), petit bijou de technologie baptisée « Sieur de Mons », en référence à Pierre Dugua de Mons (1560-1628), gentilhomme royannais qui a participé à la colonisation du Canada dès 1604, avec Samuel Champlain.
