[deutsch:] Der Gerickesteg wurde 1914/1915 gebaut. Letzte Komplettsanierung war 1987. Die Fußgängerbrücke wird vor allem von Bewohnern Moabits benutzt, die über die Brücke die nahegelegene S-Bahn-Station erreichen können. Der Gerickesteg zählt zu den schönsten Brücken Berlins und das ist wohl auch der Grund, weshalb hier so viele Liebespaare ihre Schlösser anbringen. Vor allem abends ist es sehr romantisch hier. ;-) Da das Brückengeländer äußerst massiv gebaut ist, hat man Eisenketten rund um die Verzierungen angebracht und daran die Liebesschlösser befestigt.
[english:] The Gerickesteg was builded in 1914/1915. The last renovation was in 1987. It's a footbridge over the Spree. People who is living in Moabit can use the bridge to pass the river Spree and for using the nearly suburban railway station. The Gerickesteg is called "one of the most beautiful bridges in Berlin" and I think, that's the reason for lovers to decorate it with love padlocks. ;-) On the evening, it's very romantic here! Because of the balustrade is in very massive construction, people use iron chains for place the padlocks.
