The derailment happened just north of the crossing at Horseshoe Rd. outside of Delaware Ohio. No injuries were reported and the train was only carrying grain so little environmental impact is expected. The derailment also damaged the adjacent CSX line. Clean up is expected to take 24-48 hours.

DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio - A train carrying corn grain derailed in Delaware County Tuesday afternoon, closing a portion of a local road.
According to the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency, a train derailed near U.S. 42 and Horseshoe Road in Delaware County at about 1:42 p.m.
Norfolk Southern officials said the train was carrying corn grain, and no hazardous materials were involved.
Investigators said 34 train cars from the middle of the train were involved in the derailment.
Horseshoe Road is closed between Hudson and Shortcut Road. Clean-up crews said the goal is to have the cars off the track within 24 to 48 hours, and the road reopened by 8 p.m.
The train had two crew members, three locomotives and 87 loaded cars. It departed Clarksfield, Ohio, and was heading for Loudon, Tenn.
Tri-Township Fire Department and Delaware County Sheriff's Office were called to the scene.
The cause of the derailment remains under investigation. No injuries have been reported.
