One of a series of twelve historic site markers promoting historic preservation at the public facilities located at The Sea Ranch. They were placed as part of the TSR 50th anniversary being celebrated from Memorial Day 2014 to Memorial Day 2015.

William and Geroge Bender, San Francisco Lumber Dealers, established this mill across the cove where homes now stand. To the North, at trail post 58, a beam remnant reaching out to sea marks the site of the Del Mar landing. Here small "dog hole" schooners where loaded via a wire chute.
