This is one of three cameras on the west side of Highway 1, 160 metres north west of 1st Street SW in an open field. This one is looking north east.

Alberta Highway Traffic Cams are operated by Alberta Transportation and Parks Canada. The cameras are updated three times per hour.

Alberta has found many ways to spend its oil money, one of which is these highway webcams, almost all of which are also weather stations. Each tower, aside from the webcam(s), is equipped with an anemometer, weather vane, thermometer, barometer and a road temperature sensor. The weather data is telemetered to Alberta Transportation and appears on each webcam's web page.
