The sign hangs from a wall of the pub and overhangs St Faith's Street. The sign has a red strip along the top and bottom edges. The top strip carries the name of the brewery to which the pub appears to be tied and the bottom strip carries the name of the pub. In the centre, there is a line drawing, in black and white, of a ship on a rough sea that is assumed to be the Royal Albion. The ship is under full sail with a dark, cloudy sky ahead.
