Long Description:
For a small town whose population once reached 3,000 and has dwindled to a few hundred, Northport still retains a goodly number of churches, the First Baptist being counted among those surviving.
The church is rather large for a small community. Brick faced with a large cross above the entry, it has a small bell tower in the centre of the moderately steeply pitched roof, which is shingled with asphalt shingles. The church has a large unpaved lot, affording what is likely sufficient parking for services and other functions that the church may host, but giving the folks lots of grass to mow through the summer.
