Once the Tarrys School, this hall has been a community hall for at least 46 years, as its renovation to a community hall was a community centennial project.
That's Canada's Centennial, which was in 1967. On the front lawn of the hall is a pedestal with a bronze plaque mounted atop declaring the hall a Canadian Confederation Commemorative Project.
The hall is operated by the Tarrys And District Community Hall Society, an all volunteer organization.
It presently serves the community in several capacities:
1 - meeting place for local organizations, groups, events, governments
2 - used by local government for town hall meetings
3 - educational courses ie: lumber grading
4 - kitchen used by Glade, Tarrys, Thrums Women' Club
5 - annual bluegrass social fundraiser for community
6 - "Good Sam" travel club promoting senior leisure activities
7 - polling station for elections
