Banjar is one of many, to be frank, indistinguishable towns in Java: quiet, small, just a little dusty, and with a train and bus station linking its good citizens to the wider world. The station is located near the city centre, and consists of a waiting area running along the track, a small ticket office, and an entrance courtyard. In the courtyard are a number of bejak (rickshaw) drivers, who will be astounded that anyone is getting off here, and further, that you are a westerner.

The station is on the central train route, from eastern Java to the metropolis of Jakarta. Entry to the station is unrestricted.
