The cemetery was founded in 1824. The plot was from Benjamin Lefy 27 March 1824 acquired the plant of the cemetery. He was over 150 years of central burial place of four Jewish communities in the Wasgaudörfern Busenberg, Dahn, Erlenbach and Vorderweidenthal. One last burial was in 1979 (Siegbert Lemberger from Dahn).
The cemetery is one of the most beautifully situated Jewish cemeteries in the Palatinate. The area includes 25.80 acres. The cemetery was desecrated several times, sometimes completely devastated, so just about all grave stones - if they are available - show severe and extensive damage.
