This 55-foot long, 6-foot-high mural is a photo recollection and tribute to Jack O’Neill and his surf shop, which was located nearby at Cowell Beach.

The mural consists of a collection 10 black-and-white photos that remember the O’Neill era of surfing in Santa Cruz. The establishment of his 1959 Surf Shop was at the site now owned by the Dream Inn. Beside the mural is a plaque, describing the history of the Surf Shop.

On May 31, 2012, this location was designated as a California Point of Historical Interest.
