The List Building at 1406 Main Street was built as an addition to the previously built building to its north circa 1875. The three-story brick building is in a commercial Victorian style and feature classical cast iron pilaster detailing.

The building was originally used for wood dealers and for a number of years it was used for storage. The building along with its adjacent building have been renovated and converted to the Wheeling Artisan Center, an event and retail site featuring local and West Virginia artists, craftsman and food. The building has has exhibits on the long industrial history of Wheeling.
