The May Company Department Store Building is actually a complex of several structures built between 1875 and 1905. The complex was joined under one roof in 1905 when the May Company bought buildings. After the May Company in 1913 moved out the building was subdivided. By the 1970's the store was known as "The Dollar Store" and deteriorated over the years along with the whole area. The building was renovated in 1987 and converted to offices.
