This survey marker is located at a great lookout known as Irimahawheri Lookout area, located on State Highway 6, just north of Punakaiki. It provides fantastic views of the West Coast to the north and south. There is a small carpark across the road, but take care crossing as it is close to a hairpin turn. This marker is close to a now archived geocache (http://coord.info/GCK547) by Kiwi geocaching legend Moneydork, which is how I came upon this marker. The marker consists of a metal disc covering a S/S pin set in concrete in the ground- a metal plate nailed to a nearby post.
