Once was a virgin in the Dahn forest to pick berries. Far away from the houses suddenly a man stepped out of the thicket. It was supposed to be the robber baron Hans Trapp of the Berwartstein who was preparing to rob the innocence of the Virgin. So they gathered up her skirts and went on the run, but the fiend came to her ever closer. In her panic, the persecution did not pay attention on the road. So she stood panting at once on the projecting corner of rock and looked deep down the houses of the village are. Without thinking, the Virgin plunged into the abyss. And now the miracle happened: Because her skirts aufbauschten and they were slowly falling down, it survived the plunge unharmed.

Einst ging eine Jungfrau in den Dahner Wald, um Beeren zu pflücken. Weitab von den Häusern trat plötzlich ein Mann aus dem Dickicht. Es war angeblich der Raubritter Hans Trapp von der Burg Berwartstein, der sich anschickte, der Jungfrau die Unschuld zu rauben. Darum raffte sie die Röcke und begab sich auf die Flucht, doch der Unhold kam ihr immer näher. In ihrer Panik achtete die Verfolgte nicht auf den Weg. So stand sie mit einem Mal keuchend auf der vorspringenden Ecke des Felsens und sah tief unten die Häuser des Ortes liegen. Ohne zu überlegen, stürzte sich die Jungfrau in den Abgrund. Und nun geschah das Wunder: Weil ihre Röcke sich aufbauschten und sie langsam nach unten schweben ließen, überstand sie den Sprung völlig unverletzt.
