The exact date of construction is unknown, as is the builder. Earlier statements, the castle had been built by a Hessian family called "Blumenstein", have now been proven wrong.
The first written reference to Blumenstein together with the knight Anselm of Batzendorf from the year 1332.
1347, after a feud with the Lords of Fleckenstein, the knights were driven out of your castle.
From about 1350, after negotiations get the Counts of Zweibrücken a quarter of the castle, three-quarters went to the Lords of Dahn.
In 1356, after a dispute between the Lords of Dahn and the Zweibrücker bailiff Heinrich von Selbach, they had to accept it with the 60 florins.
Probably Blumenstein Castle was destroyed in 1525 during the Peasants' War.
In 1707 it was used by makeshift repair as Fliehburg.
