Tiffany Window with Hudson River Landscape - Corning Museum of Glass - Corning, NY - Stained Glass Windows on Waymarking.com

There is quite a story behind this very large stained glass window. Melchior S. Beltzhoover hired Tiffany to create a window for his Gothic revival mansion in Irvington, New York. The scene depicted in the window is a view from the mansion's location of the Hudson River in the spring, complete with the flowers and shrubs growing around the property. The family wanted it to look like "spring all year round" from their music room.

The property was sold in 1970 to the Catholic Church and almost everything was sold, including the window. It is now permanently installed in a backlit wall inside the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY and is visited by thousands of visitors every year!

The coordinates are for the entrance to the Museum, and the Tiffany Window is located on the Glass Collections Gallery Floor. The Museum hours are

Admission is $16 per adult and free for kids and teens.
