This mural, dedicated on April 16, 2003, depicts State Senator B. C. Pearce, Sr., who served in the
Florida Senate for 20 years (1946-1966). The Senator was a champion of rural Florida counties. He was a
potato and cabbage farmer and the mural includes scenes of farming in the 1930s and 1940s. The mural also depicts the old State Capitol Building in Tallahassee.
The funding for the Senator B. C. Pearce mural was from a single donation made
by the Senator’s surviving daughter, Nancy Pearce Johnson.
