The Little Mermaid is a bronze statue by Natacha de Senger, who was set on a rock in 1966. It serves no purpose other than to be a photo opportunity for people on a boat ride.
The Little Mermaid is a very well known fairy tale by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen about a young mermaid willing to give up her life in the sea and her identity as a mermaid to gain a human soul and the love of a human prince. The tale was first published in 1837 and has been adapted to various media including musical theatre and animated film. (

La petite sirène du lac Léman est située tout près de la rive en face de la Plage de la Nymphe à Collonge-Bellerive. C'est une statue en bronze sculptée par Natacha de Senger et placée sur un rocher depuis 1966. Elle tourne le dos à la berge et ne révèle son visage qu’aux nageurs ou plaisanciers l’approchant depuis un bateau.
La Petite Sirène (danois : Den Lille Havfrue) est le titre d’un conte et le nom du personnage principal de ce conte écrit par Hans Christian Andersen. Ce conte est également nommé La Petite Ondine. (
