This overlook is maintained by the Charlotte Douglas International Airport and affords visitors a grand view of planes landing and departing on the airports center runway. It also affords visitors with a very nice view of the downtown Charlotte Skyline, which is about 9-miles east of the airport. Parking is free and benches and picnic table are provided. The area is patrolled by airport security. During my visit it was obvious that this is a very popular area for families and aircraft enthusiasts alike.
