The dome climbs over three stories of the building. You can even echo under it. Located on the National Mall is the Smithsonian Natural History Museum. There are many exhibits here for all ages. My favorite it the geology section where the Hope Diamond is located. It is on the second floor. There is also an exhibit all about tsunamis. There are also many whale fossils that are hung from the celling that create the "WOW" appeal. To realize and to look with your own eyes how big it is, just amazing. You can learn how a tsunami starts, and how water get to desert cities such as Las Vegas. There is a food court, with expensive process so I suggest you eat before you get in as there is no food allowed in the museum. There is a gif shop with many souvenirs like patches and Washington D.C. swag. You can spend 5 minutes or 5 hours here if you really want to take the time here.
Hours Open: Open every day except Dec. 25 from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Address: 10th St. & Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20560
