
In the centre of village
Chlaba (hun. Helemba) on slovak-hungarian border stands
carved wooden column as a millenium memorial of St.Stephen I., first king of Hungary.
Besides many other ornaments,
St.Stephen's crown is dominating artwork on the top of this column.
On the front lower part we can see the Coat of Arms of
Chlaba and
St.Stephen's portrait.
On it's side is carved text
Millennium 2000.
Author of the work is Nagy Janos.
Stephen I, also Saint Stephen, (Hungarian: I. Szent István) was the last Grand Prince of the Hungarians between 997 and 1000 or 1001, and the first King of Hungary from 1000 or 1001 until his death in 1038.

Na namesti v obci Chlaba (madarsky Helemba) na hraniciach s Madarskom stoji vyrezavany pamatny stlp so svatostefanskou korunou na vrchole,
ktory na pocest milenia zalozenia Uhorska v r. 2000 vyhotovil sochar Janos Nagy.
V jeho spodnej celnej casti je vyrezany znak obce Chlaba a nad nim je vyobrazeny svaty Stefan I.,
v rokoch 995 – 997 knieza Nitrianskeho kniezatstva, v rokoch 997 – 1000/1001 velkoknieza Madarov/Uhorska a v rokoch 1000/1001 – 1038 prvy kral Uhorska.
