This is the third of three large battlefield markers at the Battle of Avreasboro site. The marker's location is NC State Highway 82 in southern Harnett County at Chicora Cemetery.

This marker details the second phase of the Battle of Averasboro on March 16, 1865. The text refers to a battlefield map on the marker. This is helpful while at the location to understand the battle as it unfolded. The Phase I marker is located south in Cumberland County.
