Hamilton, a rural community located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 36 and Missouri Highway 13, offers a variety of retail and service businesses as well as antique, collectible and gift shops. Hamilton has an AAA rated public school system, fine medical facilities, public library and several recreational facilities including a swimming pool, golf course, bowling alley and fishing lake.
The mural is typical of small town Missouri murals. It introduces you to the town. Dead center is a image of James Cash Penney, most famous and loved citizen from this town. The founder of JC Penney Department stores. A Christmas view of downtown, and the original Penny Store as well as the 500th Penney Store. The old train depot, the original city hall, and the Penney Stables; all gone now. A image of Far West, a Community of Jesus Christ (a Mormon splinter group)who actually built the fist town in this county and was the county seat until they drove the Mormons out of Missouri
A on one side a small but interesting image of Zack Wheat. Baseball player, [nick-name Buck- get it? Buck Wheat?], Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1959; played with the Robins, Superbas, Dodgers and Athletics from 1909 to 1927.
