Hobro Station ligger på den gamle jernbanestrækningen Randers – Aalborg der blev åbnet i 1869. Stationens hovedbygning er tegnet af N.P.C. Holsøe, DSB's hovedarkitekt fra 1861-92, og blev ligeledes indviet i 1869.
På stationens forside ser man stadig det gamle DSB logo, vingehjulet, som ellers blev udfaset i forbindelse med en ny designlinje i starten af 1970'erne. Stationen er fredet i 1992.
Hobro Station is located on the old railway line Randers - Aalborg, opened in 1869. The station building was designed by N.P.C. Holsøe, DSB's chief architect from 1861-92, and was also inaugurated in 1869.
On the station's front one still sees the old DSB logo, "vingehjulet", which otherwise was phased out in a new design line in the early 1970s. In 1992 the building became a part of the national danish heritage register.
