Viktor Dyk (* 31. December 1877 Pšovka u Melníka; † 14. May 1931 near the island of Lopud) was a well-known Czech poet, prose writer, playwright, politician and political writer.
Viktor Dyk studied at the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague. In 1911, he became involved in politics and was during the First World War imprisoned in Vienna for his resistance activities against Austria-Hungary.
In 1918, he co-founded the Ceskoslovenská národní demokracie (Czechoslovak National Democratic Party) and was both Member of Parliament and a Senator for the National Democratic Party. His political views were conservative and nationalist. In the times of the First Republic of Czechoslovakia, Viktor Dyk was one of the prominent intellectual opponents of President Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk.
The life-sized bronze bust by the sculptor Jirí Jílek stands on a breast-high granite base with the simple inscription "Viktor Dyk" on the Štefánik observation point.
