Karen Lake occupies a glacially scoured bedrock basin about 3.3 miles northeast of Diamond Peak. The lake is at an elevation of 5948 feet and covers about 9 acres. Seasonal drainage from the lake goes into an intermittent stream channel which is tributary to Trapper Creek which flows into Odell Lake.
Access to the lake is via the Yoran Lake Trail from Odell Lake and is around trip of about 7 miles. Parking is available at Yoran Lake Trailhead near Shelter Cove Resort on Odell Lake.
