Constructed of wood in 1840, this Queen Anne, Italianate, Gothic Revival station stands at the corner of Mason Street and Sterling Street. During my visit in July, 2006, the building appeared to be in good condition, although it needs a coat of exterior paint. This structure was added to the National Registry of Historic Places in 1990.
Directions: From US-1(A) at NC-56 in downtown Franklinton, go north one block and turn east on Mason Street. Cross the tracks. The depot will be 300 feet, on your left.
