The Malta station is located at the former crossing of the Nickel Plate Road Clover Leaf Division (originally the Toledo, Lake Erie and Western RR) and the Detroit, Toledo and Ironton Railroad. It was moved to Grand Rapids then back to Malinta accounting for the lean in the building. The restored depot is now a museum. Also on the grounds are a restored Speeder's shed with an unrestored speeder, a RR telephone shed which was found in a ditch complete with equipment and a restored steel caboose of Wabash vintage painted in DT&I's colors. Photos inside the depot show the restoration job which volunteers have done and the depot’s several moves. Old Morse keys and numerous track tools had been found along side the track and are now displayed in the depot with other railroadiana. The speeder's shed had become an abandoned out building on a farm with a tree growing through it.
