Mena Creek is a locality in Queensland, Australia, located within the local government authority of Cassowary Coast Region
The locality took its name from the nearby creek, which in turn acquired its name from two possible origins:
1/ A local resident, Mena Fallon (nee Noone)
2/ Mena Camp, Cairo, Egypt, near the Mena House Hotel, where the First Australian Imperial Forces had a training camp from December 1914 to April 1915 in preparation for the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli
Mena Creek has a number of heritage-listed sites, including:
Mena Creek-Jappoon Road: Paronella Park
The post office is situated in the local store which was established in 1931 and is an important hub for the local community as the town is often cut off due to flooding in the wet season.
