L'oeuvre est constituée d'un bas-relief qui rappelle la vocation première de L'Institut Canadien, 2 sculptures de bronze et de cinq plaques de laiton qui en évoquent l'histoire. Le texte est gravé sur le mur. En effet, créé par de jeunes intellectuels de l'époque, L'Institut se voulait une réponse au rapport Durham qui niait que les Canadiens français aient une histoire et une culture.
[EN] The work consists of a bas-relief that recalls the original purpose of the Canadian Institute, two bronze sculptures and five brass plates that make up the history. The text is engraved on the wall. In fact, created by young intellectuals of the time, the Institute was a response to the Durham report that denied French Canadian history and culture.
