The James C. Godwin Riverfront Park, or Riverfront Park, as it is more commonly known, is a beautiful area that runs south of Palatka Memorial Bridge along the scenic St. Johns River. Its several amenities include the Millennium Clock Tower, the Veteran’s Memorial Fountain, the Frederick L. Griffin-Rotary Club Amphitheater, the Basil C. Pearce, Jr.-USS TANG Submariner’s Memorial, the City Dock, a boat ramp, a concession stand, picnic areas, restrooms, and a gazebo covered dock.
The clock is operational and is on the river's edge just east of the Palatka Historical District. It was made by Verdin Clock Tower and was ordered in July of 2000. It stands about 40' tall and is now a structure that locals and visitors can identify with Palatka.
