Name recognition is awfully big on the OC campus.
The OC record books are chock full of people who have earned notoriety as top athletes. But a name was missing. In February 1999, that name was added to OC’s history – Ike.
It isn’t a new recruit or a record holder. Rather, it’s a big furry eagle that wanders the sidelines of the basketball court. The mascot’s name is based on Isaiah 41:31 – “They will soar on wings as eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
The eagle’s name comes from Isaiah. Ike is short for Isaiah. Some families name children and grandchildren after ancestors in order to carry on a tradition. In our own way, that’s what Oklahoma Christian has done.

Established in 1950, Oklahoma Christian University is located on a beautiful 240 acre campus on the south side of Edmond, OK. Enrollment is about 2,300 students, with 14 academic departments and 60 majors to choose from. The undergraduate student to faculty ratio is an impressive 15 to 1. There are over 60 student organizations on campus.
OC offers six team sports for both men and women: basketball, cross country, baseball/softball, soccer, golf, and track & field.

The great bald eagle, often known as the American Eagle, bids welcome to visitors of Enterprise Square, USA.
Representative of the strength, dignity and freedoms of our nation, the majestic eagle is an appropriate symbol for Enterprise Square.
Leonard McMurry, acclaimed artist, was commissioned to sculpture the mammoth bronze eagle. With extended wingspan of fourteen feet, the Enterprise Square Eagle joins a host of McMurry's renowned heroic size monuments that grace private and public collections throughout the southwest.
