A local farmer, who apparently lives in town, parks his tractors alongside the highway for everyone to admire when they aren't actually out in the field earning their keep. All of the tractors, most dating back to the 1950s or earlier, show signs of being well maintained and the effects of recent use.
John Deere built about 64,000 of the Model G between 1937 and 1953. From 1942 to 1947 a model GM (Modernized) was introduced with few changes to justify a war-time price increase. This tractor has a single front wheel (the 'N' variant) and is equipped with a hydraulic front loader. The loader is either inoperable or it is held by a chain in the lifted position as a safety measure.
Engine Type: Internal Combustion
Wheel Type: Rubber
Make: John Deere
