The welcome sign is in the shape of a surfboard,, which is quite appropriate for this beach city where it's very common to see surfers out trying to catch a wave. The surfboard is parallel to the ground and bears the words "Welcome to Jacksonville Beach." It is attached to the tops of three additional surfboards that are perpendicular to the ground. Beneath the parallel surfboard is an electronic billboard that provides information on upcoming events.
"Jacksonville Beach is a city on the Atlantic coast of Duval County, east of Jacksonville, Florida, United States. It is part of the Jacksonville Beaches communities, together with Mayport, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, and Ponte Vedra Beach.
