A small cannon and its red carriage is mounted on a rectangular stone platform. On the west side of the platform there is a bronze plaque dedicated to those patriots who defended the Atlantic coast during the War of 1812. The plaque is inscribed:

WHICH SAW SERVICE
DURING THE WAR 1812-1815
IS DEDICATED TO THE PATRIOTS
OF THE TOWN
WHO DEFENDED OUR COAST
FROM BRITISH INVASION
PLACED SEPT. 10, 1925
