According to the Railroad Station Historical Society Extant Railroad Structures, this depot was built in 1927 to serve the Great Northern Railway. The building no longer serves passengers or freight, but is still being used by the BNSF Railway as a signal maintenance office. Just a short distance north of the depot is the Sound Transit Commuter Rail station, in service since 2000.
