This monument stands in downtown Reidsville, North Carolina and stands in dedication to the Confederate soldiers of Rockingham County. The monument depicts a Confederate soldier, with inscriptions on all four faces of the pedestal.

The first face reads:

TO THE CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS OF ROCKINGHAM COUNTY
The second face reads:
"GOD BLESS NORTH CAROLINA"
R. E. LEE
LET POSTERITY LEARN THEIR TRUE STORY AND FOREVER PONDER THEIR PATRIOTIC DEVOTION.
The third face reads:
AT THEIR COUNTRY'S CALL THEY SPRANG TO HER DEFENSE; AND ON THE ALTER OF CIVIL LIBERTY OFFERED AS A SACRIFICE THEIR PROPERTY AND THEIR LIVES.
The fourth face reads:
TRUE AS THE STEEL OF THEIR TRIED BLADES. HEROES IN HEART AND HAND, THEY FOUGHT LIKE BRAVE MEN, LONG AND WELL.
Additionally, the first face has a depiction of crossed flags with the inscription "C. S. A." and the dates "1861" and "1864."

I have been unable to determine when this monument was installed or dedicated, or by whom. There does not appear to be any markings on the monument indicating this information, and Internet research has been fruitless to this point. If you are able to provide more specific information, please do so and I will update the waymark listing appropriately. In the mean time, I am listing 1915 as the installation date as this was almost certainly installed sometime between 1900 and 1925 based on the style of the monument.
