The North Branford Soldiers' Monument is located in a grassy traffic triangle on the north side of Route 80.

A 25' high by 4.75' square gray granite obelisk stands in a 5' square stone foundation. The obelisk was fabricated by Burdick & Company and Greene and Turner were the contractors. The obelisk was dedicated on April 12, 1866.
The front of the base, just below the shaft, of the obelisk is inscribed in raised letters: 1865.
Below, in a recess in the dado, is inscribed in raised letters:
