In Natick's north section is the North Cemetery, which has several veterans of the American Revolution, including this one for Jonathon Bacon.

The cemetery is located on the east side of MA Route 27, about 0.4 miles north of the intersection with MA Route 9. It might be best to park in the Dunkin' Donuts shop parking lot just to the north and walk down from there. The plot is near the center of the cemetery.

The marking on the grave is as follows:

"Sacred in the memory of
Mr. Jonathon Bacon
who died February 17, 1844
aged 84 years

Prepare for death to follow me "

Not a lot could be found about Jonathon Bacon. Findagrave.com states the following:

"Birth: 1763
Death: Feb. 17, 1844

His spouse was Mitta Bacon (1771-1865) and at least one child, John Bacon.

There is an S.A.R. marker on his grave. He is said to have been the son of Lieutenant John Bacon."

If the birth year is correct, he could not have been more than 13 if he joined the local militia at the beginning of the war. There was no online info about his military career.

There is additional information about his life, however. In 1797 he was on two school committees and a surveyor of highways.
