The Strepy - Thieu Boat Lift, a part of the "Central Canal" (Canal du Centre) enable loads up to 1.350 tons to cross the ridge dividing the bassins of the MEUSE and of the ESCAUT.
It is 117 m high, 130 m long and it has an elevation difference between waterways of 73.15 m !
