School climate is always at the forefront of the needs improvement list. Any opportunity we get to show we mean business and to show we care about our students is an opportunity we take. School climate has improved dramatically over the last several years. Hooray. harding has been removed from the persistently "dangerous" list thanks in part to decent leadership, awesome faculty and excellent programs like this one that ran toward the end of the 2012-13 academic year.

Students at the Frankford school took a big stand against bullying during a visit by the Cartoon Network, Senator Bob Casey and a special video message from President Obama. The students raised flags for the "Stop Bullying: Speak Up" campaign on the flag pole out front of the school. Later, students were invited to sign a pledge against bullying on Facebook as part of the national launch of the campaign. Finally, a good use for Facebook!

Students were also treated to a documentary on bullying that was introduced by the President in the auditorium. The bullying prevention pledge is in partnership with Facebook, the Cartoon Network and other school based events. There was a celebrity (young girl) present who is part of the Cartoon Network who was on hand for the flag raising as were the student president and other members of the student body leadership.
