The hike to the Mt Timpanogos Summit via the Aspen Grove trail is very popular in the summer months. Parking for the trail head can be found at N40 24.309 W111 36.316, just above the Sundance Ski Resort on highway 92. The shelter & Emerald Lake are located 4.8 miles from the trail head at an elevation gain of 3500 feet.

The shelter is used almost every night during the summer months.
