I år 1895 begyndte virksomheden Glud & Marstrand at producere emaljeret køkkentøj, og det mest kendte produkt blev kaffekanden Madam Blå. Allerede i år 1900 blev der produceret 1000 kander om dagen. Produktionen blev stoppet i 1966 men det karakteristiske udseende og den store succes har sikret Madam Blå en plads i den danske kultur historie. Kanden er idag et værdifuldt samlerobjekt.
Kaffegrossisten Peter Larsens Kaffe i Viborg har som deres vartegn ud til Holstebrovej opført denne kæmpe udgave af Madam Blå. Indtil 2012 var den optaget i Guinness Rekordbog som verdens største kaffekande.
Fyldt med kaffe ville kanden veje ca. 10,0 tons og indeholde ca. 9.400 liter hvilket svarer til ca. 75.000 kopper kaffe.
In 1895 the company, Glud & Marstrand, began producing enameled cookware, and the most famous product was the coffee pot Madam Blue. Already in 1900, the factory produced 1,000 cans a day. Production was stopped in 1966 but the characteristic appearance and the great success has ensured Madam Blue a place in the Danish cultural history. Today Madam Blue is a valuable collector's item.
Coffee wholesaler Peter Larsen Coffee in Viborg have built this giant version of Madam Blue. Until 2012, it was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest coffee pot.
