This campground is run by the national park system. It is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The campground is divided up into a tent area, a pop up and van area and a motorhome area. Electricity is not available but hot showers are in the tent and popup area. Water is available. Generators are allowed but only till 9pm. During our visit only one person was running one out of many campers.
The sites are well separated by trees and natural shrubbery. The altitude keeps the nights cool. A camp store is located a short distance away over by the lodge. Only basics are available there. There is no large sign, just a sign saying "camping" with an arrow pointing to the campground. The campground is to the west of the lodge on the north side of the parkway. Road noise is minimal.
From the 2013 web page for the campground and inn:
"The National Park Service operates a 137 site campground located directly across the parkway from the main inn. For campground information, contact the Blueridge parkway at 828 271 4780. The phone number for the Campground Kiosk at the Mt. Pisgah Campground is 828 648 2644."
