Andy Warhol was born on August 6th, 1928 and died on February 22, 1987. He is buried at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, which is owned and operated by St. John the Baptist Church in Pittsburgh - a sister parish of St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church.
Hundreds of devotees make the pilgrimage yearly to Warhol’s resting place. Often these visitors leave mementos at the site, including such popular culture items as Campbell’s Soup cans and Coca-Cola bottles.
Now, you can watch these visitors at anytime thanks to the Warhol Museum and EarthCam. To log this, you will need help as someone will have to do a screen save or other technique to capture your visit!
Madelyn Roehrig is the artist responsible for this project and she was thrilled to have so many people show up for Andy's 86th birthday celebration on August 6th, 2014!! Every year on his birthday, she hosts a party at the site, so on August 6th at 5 pm, you are all invited. Halloween is another night to come out and say hello. Wear your best warhol-ish costume!!
