This webcam is mounted on the second light standard south of Highway 33. It is looking north up Highway 97 toward the northern outskirts of Kelowna.
Kelowna, the largest city in the Okanagan is at the mid point of Okanagan Lake, the interior's major summer playground. It, as well as Vernon to the north and Penticton, to the south, has become a well known winter playground, as well, with the development of large ski hills near each of these cities. The Okanagan, known for a century as an excellent fruit producing region, has, in the last 20 to 30 years, become an important wine producer. Wineries in the valley have won many gold medals at international wine festivals.
