In Roman mythology, Flora was a goddess of flowers and the season of spring. This sculpture by Paul Seiler stands in the Taunusanlage in the City centre of Frankfurt

Der Bildhauer und Ziseleur Paul Seiler (* 11. Juni 1873 in Neustadt im Schwarzwald; † 9. Juni 1934 in Frankfurt am Main) schuf um 1900 die durch antike Plastiken inspirierte Skulptur "Flora". Ihr Kleid hat einen langen Faltenwurf und in der rechten Hand hält sie einen Blumenkranz. Seiler schuf sie lebensgroß aus Stein. Sie steht am nord-östlichen Eingang zur Taunusanlage auf einem gestuften Sockel. Nach dem Tod Seilers schenkten die Erben das Werk der Stadt Frankfurt.
Flora ist in der römischen Mythologie die Göttin der Blüte, im besonderen der Getreideblüte. In allegorischen Darstellungen der vier Jahreszeiten verkörpert Flora den Frühling.
The sculptor and engraver Paul Seiler (* 11 June 1873 in Neustadt im Schwarzwald; † 9. June 1934 in Frankfurt am Main), created around the year 1900 the sculpture "Flora", inspired by antique sculptures. Her dress has a long drape and the right hand she holds a wreath of flowers. Seiler created her life-sized, made of stone. She stands at the north-eastern entrance of the Taunusanlage on a tiered base. After Seiler's death, his heirs donated the work to the city of Frankfurt.
Flora is in Roman mythology the goddess of flowers, especially of cereal flowering. In allegorical representations of the four seasons, Flora represents the spring.
