Glen Sandfield became a local centre after the establishment of a post office in 1858, a school in 1861 and a store in 1868.
In 1880, its Presbyterian residents who had been a part of the original parish of Lochiel at St. Columba, requested to be raised to the status of a congregation, sharing a Session and a minister with East Hawkesbury. In 1882, a half acre of land for a church was donated by Angus Smith, and the members hauled logs from the bush to construct the present church.
Members voted to join the United Church in 1925.
Weekly worship services are on Sundays at 10 am. Children are welcome at service with special activities (story).
